Terms of use

Last updated 6 October 2026

FogSwap is a software interface. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

What FogSwap is

FogSwap shows quotes and creates swap orders on third-party settlement rails: NEAR Intents (Fast swaps and Vaults) and, for Monero and coins NEAR does not support, an exchange-routing partner. FogSwap does not run an exchange, does not make markets and does not hold customer funds.

Custody

  • Fast swaps: your deposit is held by NEAR Intents only while it settles, then paid out or refunded under the rail's rules.
  • Vaults: funds sit in a NEAR Intents balance controlled by a key created and stored in your browser. FogSwap never receives that key and cannot move, freeze or recover those funds. If you lose the key and your browser storage, the balance is lost.
  • Exchange routes: funds are held by our partner and its exchanges during the hops. Their terms and screening apply, and they may refuse or delay flagged funds or addresses.

Your responsibilities

  • Check every address. Sending the wrong coin, on the wrong chain, or to an address you do not control is usually unrecoverable.
  • Send within the quote window. Late, short or excess deposits are handled by the rail as described on the Docs page.
  • Keep your vault key file and its password safe.
  • Make sure using FogSwap is legal where you are.

Prohibited use

You may not use FogSwap to launder money, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, move proceeds of crime or fraud, or for any other unlawful purpose. You may not use it if you are a sanctioned person or located in a sanctioned or prohibited jurisdiction. Rails and partners screen activity and may refuse or hold funds; FogSwap may block access to anyone at any time.

Quotes, fees and timing

Quotes come from the rails and can move until a swap settles. Every quote shows its full cost. Times are estimates. FogSwap's own fee is shown on the quote and may change; it currently is zero on NEAR routes and the partner minimum of 0.25% on exchange routes.

Privacy features

The Fog Score, scatter, Vault and other tools reduce how easily a swap can be followed on public chains. They are not a guarantee of anonymity. The settlement rails and exchanges see the swaps they process.

No warranty, limited liability

FogSwap is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, FogSwap and its contributors are not liable for losses arising from your use of the interface, the rails, the partners, blockchain networks, your devices, or your keys.

Changes

We may change these terms or the service at any time. The date above shows the latest version.
